NINA RODRÍGUEZ


Nina Rodríguez has worked as an international film festival and industry programmer for over fifteen years. Originally from Cologne, Germany, where she started working in the music industry, she holds an MA in The Presentation and Preservation of the Moving Image from the University of Amsterdam. Since 2006, Nina has been Head of Programming at the Guanajuato International Film Festival, one of Latin America’s most important platforms for burgeoning filmmakers. Having collaborated with the Abu Dhabi Film Festival in the past, she is also an Industry Program Manager at Qumra, an initiative of the Doha Film Institute providing mentorship for international film projects from development through post-production. In 2023, Nina started collaborating with the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where she’s currently Head of Programming Operations. She has curated programs for events like FICG, St. Kilda Festival, Schweizer Jugendfilmtage, and Regards; participated in panels and juries at renowned festivals worldwide, including Tokyo, Mar del Plata, Sarajevo, CRFIC, FNC, El Gouna, Berlinale Talents and Clermont Ferrand; served as Academic Coordinator for the Pueblo Mágico Film Residency and founded Compartimento Cinematografico—an independent cinema in San Miguel de Allende in 2020.
